Priorities
District C is one of Houston’s most engaged and dynamic districts. Residents care deeply about their neighborhoods and expect city government to work — consistently, transparently, and effectively. My priorities are grounded in experience, local needs, and a commitment to delivering results.
Public Safety & Neighborhood Quality of Life
Public safety is foundational to a thriving district. Residents deserve to feel safe in their homes, on their streets, and in shared public spaces. Public safety requires coordination across city departments, attention to infrastructure like lighting and street design, and prevention strategies that reduce harm and support families and neighborhoods. I will focus on practical, community-centered solutions that strengthen safety while preserving neighborhood character.
Flooding, Drainage & Disaster Resilience
Flooding is one of the most urgent and personal challenges facing District C, particularly in areas like Braeswood. I have worked directly on disaster response, flood mitigation, and FEMA advocacy, including securing federal resources and ensuring accountability so projects deliver what was promised. I serve on a local TIRZ and the Counties Redevelopment board, bringing an infrastructure and accountability lens to decisions that shape District C’s streets, drainage, and public spaces.
On City Council, I will prioritize flood mitigation projects that provide measurable protection, transparency in stormwater funding, coordination with county and federal partners, and long-term resilience planning that protects homes and families.
Delivering the Basics Well
City government succeeds or fails on execution. Residents deserve reliable trash and recycling pickup, well-maintained streets and sidewalks, effective drainage, and responsive city services. I bring an execution-focused approach to governance, emphasizing coordination, clear timelines, and follow-through so city services work as intended.
Smart Growth, Economic Opportunity & Innovation
District C sits at the center of Houston’s innovation economy, home to thriving small businesses, world-class institutions, and neighborhoods that drive the city forward. I support thoughtful growth that strengthens local businesses, supports innovation and job creation, respects neighborhood identity, and ensures growth benefits existing residents.
Transportation, Mobility & Safe Streets
Residents deserve safe and accessible streets whether they are walking, biking, driving, or using transit. I support data-driven street safety improvements that reduce traffic injuries and fatalities, improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, and ensure infrastructure investments are targeted where they are needed most.
Health, Families & Community Well-Being
Healthy communities are strong communities. City policy plays an important role in supporting public health through partnerships with healthcare institutions and community organizations, access to mental health resources, and policies that support families and children. My approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on outcomes.
Accountable, Effective Government
District C residents expect transparency, responsiveness, and responsible stewardship of
public funds. I will prioritize clear communication with residents, strong oversight of city
departments, and collaboration to ensure commitments are honored and services are
delivered efficiently.
A Continuation of What Works
District C has benefited from thoughtful, data-driven leadership. I respect that legacy and am running to build on it with experience, steady judgment, and a relentless focus on delivery. I believe in inclusive, accountable government that works — especially for families, workers, and communities who rely on it most.
